YouReach Social RE agents on importance for success in Social Media

When Real Estate Professionals enroll with our 24-week mobile social media training course, we like to dig in and learn more about them.  We want to understand our clients current standing and priorities so that we can best assist them in crafting their social media strategy.

Below is a visual representation of our clients responses to being asked importance for success with different aspects of social media- PRIOR to Training

Howimportantisittosucceed

The data suggests that generally, all areas of social media presented in the survey are “very important.”  The ability to leverage social media communication through a mobile phone has the largest percentage of responses of “very important” at over 80%- which is great for us at YouReach.  Our training focuses on an overarching strategy that supports daily content sharing in the most effective networks all through a mobile phone.

Also, we can see that a majority of respondents feel that a large following on Twitter and a large Fan Base on Facebook is important.  Through our training, we try to help clients focus on quality before quantity.  While the numbers are important for exposure, the quality of one contact can very easily replace hundreds of dormant connections.

Interestingly, just 69% of clients thought adding all past clients in social media was important. In an industry based on referrals, we assumed more YouReachers would naturally want to connect with past business contacts.  This data demonstrated that the need for education on how Social Media relationships impact and influence business was imperative early in our training.  We feel and want to impart the notion that this is “very important” to 95% or more of our YouReachers.

What are your responses to the questions asked in this survey? Or, you reaction to the responses we received?   Stay tuned over the next several weeks for more data from the depths of the minds of YouReach Media clients!

Google Reader Backlash: 10,000 Users Sign Petition to Save Old Version

Media_http4mshcdncomw_bhiel

Go ahead and check out the new digs! That’s right, Google Reader got a makeover. Not just that, but its functionality has shifted into Google + rather than sharing WITHIN Reader.

Maybe its just me, but as soon as Google + was introduced is when I began to see more value in Reader, and I think that the ability to share articles you’re reading in by using the +1 function (growing rapidly in popularity) makes a LOT more sense than the small community surrounding Google Reader.

Definitely check out this article from Mashable, there are some interesting data regarding the Top Google Reader User Countries (Iran) and for many of us, its a reminder to go get logged back in and caught up with some news.

Despite what some of the angry reactions were to the change, I look forward to getting more functionality and productivity out of both Reader and Google +, and as we tell all YouReach clients- the only constant with Technology is change. Don’t get mad, don’t Victimize yourself, and do continue to learn!

I say screw the petition, and THANKS Google!
